What we offer?

MEET THE WORLD CRICKET WATCH TEAM…

David Siddall, Editor

The opening batsman that England never wanted. Despite rejection from the England camp, his passion for cricket has never waned. Never forgets being called a pommie c bomb on his first ever night out in Australia.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Blaise Murphet, Contributing Editor
Blaise is a cricket devotee, who fondly remembers the glory years of the West Indies, particularly his time in the Caribbean watching and talking cricket. A keen advocate of test cricket in particular, he has begrudgingly accepted that Brad Hodge slamming sixes in T20 is pretty damn exiting
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

David-GreenDavid Green, columnist (the Gideon Haigh of WCW)

David’s never realised his dream of captaining his country in an Ashes series Down Under. He’s now trying to convert the french to cricket (with little success to date!). His blog: The Reverse Sweep

Raf Copeland, Contributing Editor – Production

Rafiq Copeland is a writer, producer and occasional umbrella salesman. Rafiq discovered he was scared of heights whilst climbing the scoreboard at the Colombo cricket ground, and once got told to ‘piss off’ by Aleem Dar.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jimi Stephens
Jimi was born with the head of a 15 pound baby and despite taking 16 years to grow into this monstrous noggin, he managaed to become a handy first drop and gloveman for his local club in Richmond, Victoria. Because he likes to watch Rahul Dravid bat, people have often thought he is blind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Stephen Thomas, Pundit and betting analyst

Steve was a talented cricketing youngster, unfortunately a dodgy right eye thwarted his destiny to be Australia’s top all rounder. Fortunately his left eye is magic at defying the bookies odd’s and picking a winner. Join Punter Steve for his semi regular column on betting plus tit bits on love and life in the city.

Tim Mathias, writer, researcher

With an English mother and Indian father, Tim Mathias’ allegiance is split. He continues to research on the evolution of Indian cricket, from ‘Cultural Supremacy to Cricketing Swadeshi’.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Suyash Srivastava, writer, musician, actor
He’s been published alongside the likes of Wasim Akram and Zaheer Abbas in legendary Pakistani writer Asif Noorani’s latest book entitled “Boom Boom Shahid Afridi”.Websites: Front Foot
stuart-coullStuart Coull
Stuart grew up in Scotland and is testament that Scotland can play cricket, he opens the bowling right arm pretty f#$king quick and is a lower order batsman that gives it some serious tap.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

jeremy-loadmanJeremy Loadman
Like the rest of the World Cricket Watch team this chap has limited cricketing ability but bowls a straight-break to match anything Cameron White can dish up.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rob MarrsRob Marrs
Rob is a 27 year old blogger based in Edinburgh. A football and cricket obsessive, he has the distinction of being possibly the only man to score a hat-trick for the Northen Hemisphere in a game of football*.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Matthew Wood

A columnist with the Montreal Gazette, Montreal’s largest English-language newspaper and a freelance sports writer you can find at Balanced Sports.  A big fan of context, he says the best cricket innings he ever saw was Andrew Symonds 143* against Pakistan in the 2003 World Cup, the only match of that tournament his television actually worked for.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Daniel Gray
Despite possessing a wrong ‘un described by his Dad as ‘unplayable’, Daniel never went on to greater things on the cricket field. He now spends his days in Melbourne pondering what could have been, and is in negotiations to write a book with Stuart MacGill* (*this part may not be true).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Subash Jayaraman

Subash’s cricket education began in his backyard with his older brothers dealing body blows and sledging him. One day, he said “enough is enough” and batted 7 overs for 11 runs, while copping blows on chest and shoulders. Having moved to U.S. from India for “higher studies”, he continues playing club cricket, although his cricket skills are rapidly vanishing. He was the leading wicket taker (27 in 13 matches) for his university team in 2005 highlighted by a 5-22. He blogs at “The Cricket Couch“. He absolutely detests Pucker-faced Ponting.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tom Maston
Tom is a Sports Journalism student at UCLAN (University of Central Lancashire) in Preston. Originally from Leeds, he is a cricket fanatic who occasionally keeps wicket like a young Jack Russell (some would argue whether this was the dog or the cricketer). Tom blogs at Maston in the Middle
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ben Roberts

Ben grew up on a strong diet of cricket literature as well as playing the game right through junior/senior ranks until he finished university. He was by no means any particular star of the game,  but this did not reduce his passion or dreams of becoming the Australian skipper.

Outside of cricket he is a qualified accountant and currently work for a large aid/development organisation as part of the Legal and Risk department. Ben is also a very part time post-graduate theological student.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anurag Abinashi
Anurag grew up in New Delhi and moved to London in 1998. Since then he has established himself on the village circuit as a fielder who bats a bit, bowls leggies (slowly) and sledges a lot (when not stuffing his face with remnants of cake he put in his pockets at tea). His quicker ball is possibly the worst disguised ball in world cricket. Outside of cricket Anurag is a full-time MBA student and part time soldier of fortune.
