Sri Lanka vs India Match Preview

India vs sri lanka final previewIndians have been chasing pretty well now. No matter what the target is, some way or the other, the men in blue are playing as a team. The only concern was the bowling department. But the Indian bowlers restricted the strong Lankan batting line up to 213 in the last match both the sides played. It was good to see Nehra bowling some superb swing overs against Bangladesh in their last match. India would expect Zaheer Khan to repeat his performance against the Lankans.

India’s major worry could be Dilshan. Once Lankans had lost Tharanga for 9 in the last match against India, Dilshan’s bombarding might have surely scared all the fans and even the skipper couldn’t do much than to watch him play behind the stumps and his gloves. If Dilshan is on song, the fielders are just supposed to chase leather all across the ground.

The positives for India should be the current form of Virat Kohli. He has been the match winner for India in the series so far. The other advantage is the support by Dinesh Kartik as an opening batsman. His 48, 34 in the last two matches have resulted into crucial partnerships of 89, 64 runs respectively with Gautam Gambhir. A good innings from Yuvraj Singh is due and a ‘bad form’ isn’t his status for sure!

Taking the Lankans lightly at any point of time could be a suicidal factor for India. It was an exceptional day in the last match where they got all out for just 213 runs; else they have enough depth in their batting line up. A good innings from Mahela Jayawardene is due, else the other players are quite capable of building up a massive score. In form Dilshan, Sangakara will once again have to play the key roles for their side. Both the sides have defeated each other once in the series so far.

Overall we can expect some great cricket from the final of the ODI Series. The series has been an entertaining one so far. Credit goes to Bangladesh for playing challenging cricket. They didn’t play bad at all; it was just that they were competing against better sides. The kind of cricket both the teams have played we can expect the final match to be flooded with runs.
